I am looking at adding a tach to my 66 coupe. There are several options, but I am looking for some opinions.
1. Digital Dashboard (had this in my old 65, looked good)
2. 6 Gauge cluster
3. Shelby dash pod
4. Rally Pac
5. Attach one to the steering column

Obviously, 5 is the least expensive. Other than that - thoughts???

Thanks,
Hank

I have a dash pod, but to me, looking over to see the tach distracts you..Its to far off to the right to be of any use IMO. Exp if your running a quarter mile. I am going to replace the entire gauge cluster with a cluster I found on line.

Its www.Haneline.com It comes with the tach, water, fuel, oil, speedo, and volts. Looks really sharp.

I am working on a 65 coupe.

However you mount it, I recommend Autometer.

I like the shelby pods. The look good, if not go with a rally pac.

I really like the Dakota Digital dash in my '65. Installation was straight forward, all of the hardware was included, and it's worked perfectly since it's been installed. Not everyone goes for the digital look - before I installed it, I wasn't sure I would like it either. Turns out I'm a big fan now - it looks like it belongs in the '65 interior and the electronics save you from some headaches (calibrate for any fuel tank sender, ditch the speedo cable and read a speed sensor, has a 'check engine' light function built in for EFI, etc...)

I've got the column with a autometer recall. If I could find a 3 incher I would have the 6 gauge setup.

Can someone post pics of a column mounted tach? I was intrested in one as well, something small, but I dont want it blocking out the other gauges so I was considering mounting it like a 65 GT-350R (Not the two gauges pod) on the dash, anyone got some pics?

1965 GT 350R gauges, is this what you meant? Not steering column mounted.

Or, did you mean a '66 GT 350?
