Ford has been known to screw over 2V owners before. Haven't heard complaints from Honda owners like Ford does. So what?

I was just wondering if anyone has seen a tutorial on how to adjust timing for optimum performance with the sct2 if youre tuning on your own. How do you know when you've gone too far without a knock sensor to let you know? I'm sure there would be an audible ping but im not sure if i wanna take that gammble. Just lookin for a little insight on this subject especially since im going with aftermarket cams.

Consider using the SCT Pro Racer Package if you're going to self-tune with an XCal 2. You will also need to install a wideband O2 datalogger unless you're going to have access to a dyno.

There is a shop here in town that uses both SCT and Diablo. I asked the guy at the shop which one is better or which did they prefer I'd buy.

He said they are both the same, they both do the same things except the SCT uploads faster. He said he did not have a preference. So I am buying the diablo since I can get it cheaper than the SCT.

Exactly what I say whenever this question comes up. The tune (in the case of a custom or dyno tune) is only as good as the person writing it. The flash tuner is only the means used to download it, and both the XCal 2 and the Predator are easily used to do so. Some have said the customer service from Diablo is bad; I personally have not had to ask for customer service directly from Diablo because their flash tuner doesn't really require much in way of instruction to use. I have dealt with an independent Diablo CMR dealer in developing a custom tune for my vehicle, and his customer service couldn't be any better. The only times a Xcal 2 would be considered a "better" flash tuner (in my opinion) is if one is going to spend the extra $$ and get SCT's Pro Racer Package along with it and self-tune their own vehicle, or if your favorite dyno shop only uses SCT software.

don't go with the predator. I bought one when I first got my car and it couldnt remove the speed limiter. then they wanted to charge me for a custom tune to take it off. go with sct. I eventually got a chip burned by a local mustang shop. That was for a novi 2000.
