Easy question, but I cant remember. I want to experiment something on my car for a cold start issue i'm having so I can't go out and start it to see. Is it counter-clockwise or clockwise to LOWER it???
On my Kirban you use an allen head style wrench to turn it clockwise (up) and counterclockwise (down) to adjust the fuel pressure...then you turn the nut clockwise to lock the setting in place so vibration doesn't affect the FP...
Yeah you have a guage don't you?
It is getting a bit chillier down here and after I cleaned my IAB and TB real good (used a LOT of carb cleaner then blew it out)...my car "cold-starts" better than it did in the summer
David, my cold start is getting worse now. I gonna try and lower the FP a little and see if that helps. Just some more trial and error. Thanks and yes I have a FP gauge mounted on my cowl among all the other autometer gauges in my car

I knew you had the autometer guages but didnt' know if you had one for the FP...
I say you just need to start replacing every sensor until something good happens with either the cold start or MPG
I have my timing at 16-17* - Autolite 3924's @ .045 - FP set at 39psi...
but I live in a warmer climate than you...in the "dead" of winter it might get down to 0 degrees here usually at the worst...but normally around 20* as a low...I guess when winter starts to really hit I will know if I have the same problem as you...
After about 5 minutes max, its all fine and rock solid. It appears its a problem with being too rich in open loop/cold start. I am tempted to buy an anderson PMS and learn that thing. Im also looking into doing a new engine.
Hey, does anyone have pics of their stock shortblock with the heads off? I want to see how the pistons look.
Well, off to uncover the car and mess around with it..
Mike
