Hey i decided on getting an offroad x pipe and NOT a h pipe. Mainly because i like the x pipe better with 2 chamber flowmasters, cause the H from what i heard on mustangexhaust clips the h pipe/no cats with flows pop some bit.

But i defintely like the X pipe. Question is what brand and from where. I saw a O/R x pipe from a palce near by and they claimed it to be a MAC, but i didn't think mac made x pipes? So BBK, Bassani, Dr. Gas, UPR, etc. I don't really care for the stainless cause the extra cost. I don't care what it will look like its under the car to me, plus i don't have snow or live by the beach. And could always spray exhaust paint on the pipe.

What brand and from where will give me the most for my money? Are there really different sound characteristics of each x pipe?

Thanks

There are different sounds from the pipes because there are different designs of the "x" cross over. I just got Flowmasters "d" pipe and the only thing i dont like is its not a direct bolt on but i love the sound with my combo. I plan to get some clips up soon. It sounds like an h at idle and cruise speeds to me but at WOT it sounds like a crazy raped ape that ran away from a nascar race

i think ur best bet is upr, 160shipped from coolblueperformance.com...thats cheaper then the rest unless u want a bbk one...looks like a horrible X design almost like an H, only other ones id get is a vrs or dr gas x one, but upr looks nice and cheaper, i heard the fitment was good from corral.net users too

Cheapest X would be the MAC (and yes mac sells on x). Go to the corral classifieds-exhaust and look for 2 users named mustang2race and breenspeed they are both atherized corral.net sellers and both sell Mac products.

i like the mid pipes that have provisions in the rear for the hangers. the upr lacks that.

Do you have the UPR Mathulus? That one pictured is actually for a 96+. You can tell because of the 4 O2 Sensor holes.

Yeah do you guys think it's worth to get a bassani x pipe and i don't even know where to buy a Dr. Gas x pipe. But i can get the UPR for the 160 plus shipping, or there is a place by my house that has a mac offroad x pipe for 170 out the door. So is bassani worth the extra 60 bucks?

If bassani is where is the best place to get new bassani pipes?

The Bassani X is coated. At least they were when I had one. UPR is up the street from me but I've never seen there X. I'm doing the Prochamber again.

MAC does make X's. I got my Bassani X pipe from Steeda many years ago for $230.

I bought a Pypes x-pipe and had no problems getting it in the car. great sound afterwards. only problem is that I'm having a fit trying to re connect the smog pump. I can't find a high temp flex pipe to reconnect it.

i love my bassani o/r x-pipe. i think i have 3 chamber flows, not really sure bc they came with the car. but anyways at idle is quiet, well for a car with no cats, but once i step on it the car screams. i also got the stainless steel, but i got that bc i live by the coast and dont want rust.

I got my Dr. Gas out of the corral classifieds for 180 brand new. Installed it this past weekend along with some longtubes and the sound is unbelievable. Like nothing I've ever heard on a mustang. I originally had an off-road h on the car but swithed to this and love it. It doesnt seem to beas raspy like the other x-pipes but is smooth and gives a high pitched scream up top. The only tricky thing was installing the 7 different pipes with clamps and i now need to get it all welded together.
