As far as I know, yes. He would have to be an idiot to not have known the mileage since he took out the old unit.

One thing I want to avoid is the beeping sound. Sounds like the dealer didn't do something right.

I agree, the dealer did not do something properly. That's why you're getting the beeps.

I just picked up a used my color dash cluster and I'm looking for a heads up on the install. I know about what has to be done before and after the install. Just looking for a heads up on the actual dash install. Thanks.

I've got my parts and I'll be doing it within the next couple of weeks. I'll be sure to post what you need to know.

Quick question here. I didn't get the my color option at time of purchase, but it has grown on me now. Is it possible to take it to the dealer and have my stock dash replaced with the my color? If so, does anyone actually know the approximate cost? Thanks in advance.

ford stopped putting in the entire wire harness mid year in 05. you can pull the cover where the my color selector would be and see if you have the connection there.

That's right. For all you guys who want to install it, first take a small straight blade screwdriver and pry the blank out of the dash. Pry from the bottom not the sides. It will come right out. The harness plug should be plugged right in the back of the blank, of course it's not plugged into anything electrical. If you don't have the small harness plug with about four wires going to it, forget about the retrofit. If you do have the harness plug, you're in business. Go to the Ford dealer and have them contact The Cluster Center and order you a new 6 gauge cluster. Have your mileage, & vin# handy. They will need it. The Cluster Center will program your mileage into the new cluster which I'm sure will be a bit off once it's installed. DO NOT INSTALL THE CLUSTER. You will have to get a Ford tech to use their WDS computer to first pull the info from the old cluster, then install the new cluster with the info that was taken from the old one. It only takes about ten minutes to swap clusters. This is all I know so far. I'll find out more soon and keep you guys posted.

By the way, most guys are spending $500-$600 total to have this done. I wouldn't even do it if I didn't score a used cluster with similar mileage on it. If you do get lucky enough to find a used cluster make sure it's for your model car. For example, a GT cluster will not work in a V-6 car. The tach supposedly will be inaccurate. That's what I read on another forum which they won't let me link to according to stangnet rules.
