I can get a great deal on a set of used eibach pro springs from around here and want to install them in time for our next area GTG but i dont have the cash to buy new shocks. How chitty would my ride be if i just put the springs with no shocks? Also will my camber be a real issue?

don't do it it's not worth it, you won't get all the benifits and the shocks will bottom out

My car had stock shocks and Eibach springs when I bought it, and it was 10,000 miles before I bothered to pony up for new shocks. I never noticed any problems like bottoming out the shocks. Who knows how long the springs were installed . Lots of people do just the springs, it's not *that* big a deal.

I lowered mine and left my old stock shocks on and it rides great.

I have the Pro-Kits with stock shocks/struts and the ride is OK. Not nearly as bas as my brothers old 95 with sportlines.

I just installed Steed Sports and kept my stock shocks/struts. The ride is better now with less body roll and brake dive. It's an easy job to put new ones in later.

you sure about that?


I lowerd mine last summer w/ FMS C Springs and kept the stock shocks on it for now, Never bottomed out and the ride quality dident go down that much at all.

You will only have a problem if your stock shocks are blown.

pretty much. shocks and struts are so easy to put in anyways. 15 minutes per shock, 30 per strut. i say go ahead and lower it. its not like you need to put the spring around the strut/shock anyways.

Steeda Springs and C/C plates...STOCK shocks.

Are the camber plates a must? also was it hard to adjust the camber angle?

yeah, what if i drop about 1" on both, do i need C/C plates? Just thinking about future parts...

i need camber plates...i but getting MM plates will always help later on...you could probly get away with it with only 1" but you are still risking bad tire wear.

My car is lowered with the Eibach sportlines and i have stock shocks and struts for now and i never bottom out or scrap or anything like that but it's a bouncy ride though.

I lowered mine the day I bought it in june of 98. It had 57,000 and now has 161,000. My stock shocks/struts just started giving me serious problems about a month ago. I have had uneven tire wear b/c of not getting the cc plates. I'm now in the process of buying new Bilsteins off of a dude and I got the MM CC for Christmas. I've never had a problem with bottoming out. The only thing was uneven tire wear. Until a month ago when the car started bouncing real bad.
