Who's got what short shifter?

I've got the new hurst super short throw shifter. I had a pro 5.0 in the past and the throw on the hurst is as short if not shorter than the pro 5.0. Very nice shifter

D&D's version of the triax it's a hell of alot better than the original shifter.

Pro 5.0 here. I would look into the MGW before you do anything though. THey are relatively new and have great reviews.

Steeda here,have hade the hurst in the past, it s a good shifter but for the price i would ge steeda or pro50. I got my steeda used for a $100 shipped(looks brand new)

NCSTANG86 Do you have the billet hurst 3915030 for t5 with gold base???????Does it fit ok in your 86????Why is darn near everything 87-93 when 86 has so much the same????????

Hurst here, I like it.. It was in the car when I got it, I've put about a thousand miles on it so far, and no complaints..

I just put in a Triax. replaced a mac that sucked. Triax is very nice

I have a Steeda Tri-ax and I love it. I haven't missed 3rd gear in a LONG time.

MGW coming tomorrow I won't really have anything to compare it with besides the stock shifter though. I havn't shifted a tri-ax or pro5.0. I'd been looking at shifters for months. I never really could decide on one. When i saw this one i knew i had to have it, lol. I'll let you know what i think of it when i get it in the car.

pro 5.0.i got it from blueovalindustries for $170.if i would get another stang then i would definitly get another pro 5.0.

I have the new SST billet plus part#3915071. They did a write up on it in the 5.0 mag a few months ago. I had no problems w/ fitment. I already had the console plate and boot from a old competition plus so I used it.The 3915071 is much better than the 3915030 it comes w/ chrome stick and shifter ball. The shifter is a totally new design. I was very impressed. I bought it from holcomb motorsports. The price was only $168.They advertise in muscle mustang mag. Just call em up and give the part # they'll know what your talking about

Thanks N.C. that has a longer straight handle right?For some reason that is the one that Hurst says is for 85-86 its confuseing cause I got the same trans t-5 as my other two stangs 87-89!!!!!!!

I think the part# for the 85-86 is 3915070 or 3915072. This one is 3915071. Hurst says this one will fit all T-5s and T-45s. It comes w/ a shim plate for a T-45.It does have a staight long chrome handle.check out this link http://mustang50magazine.com/howto/138_0408_shifter_install/

What I have seen is lots of parts that do fit on an 86 for some reason dont get the callout on the fitment sheets. You are right there is a lot of common part specs between an 86 and my 87 but not all by a long shot!

Pro 5.0 Cant go wrong. Smooth as glass and super accurate
