Wondering why my auction didnt go any higher?

I thought it was a good deal for mid $2,000 range and the auction had over 2,000 hits and 90 watchers, what went wrong? Too expensive? I see alot of kits that don't have half of this go for more....

Maby you tried selling at a bad time who knows. Try relisting it maby lower your reserve a bit. Once people see that the reserve is met the may be more interested.

Didn't you here everyone is getting theese I ordered one they work good and they are a decent price

lower your reserve. Seriously as a buyer who uses ebay a lot a high reserve can drive you away. People see that the reserve hasn't been met at $1900 and they may think that your greedy and have set the reserve at a higher place than you did, so they go look somewhere else.

Also you don't list shipping costs. The buyer doesn't know if you plan on sticking him with some inflated shipping charge. If you don't know the weight just throw it in a box put it on the bathroom scale and round up. Then go to the USPS and find out what it would cost to ship it. I'm in NH so I look at shipping costs to LA so I see what my high end would be. Then pick a price to charge. If its really high to the fatherest place you may want to lower your shipping cost so you don't scare off closer buys and just risk eating the shipping should some distant buyer win.

For heavy items I do this. For most I use my shipping scale + listing fees to set my shipping on a slidding scale.

I would also recommend telling how much you spent on the system so buyers can see how much they are saving and maybe some more pictures. Close ups of the intercooler, turbo, etc. If I'm laying down 2 grand I want to feel like I am in the room with the object. If you trying to keep listing charges down just use a photo editor to make these shots into a montage.

Thanks for the info, I wrote in about actual shipping cost but I couldnt get an exact ammount because of the various factors, for example the company used, sometimes fed ex is cheaper sometimes ups is cheaper. Depending on how far away they are the shipping goes up but I was only going to charge exact rate.

As for the reserve, you are right I should have lowered it.

As for pictures, I listed a link in the auction with tons of pics and closeups.

Maybe ill try again or maybe ill try classifieds again...

Ok I just skimmed your ad. Yeah you might have better luck with the classifieds here or at the corral. But I warn you I notice things go for cheaper in the classifieds.

But then again a clean turbo kit isn't as common as say a pair of MAC headders.

If you try ebay again I would state explicitly in the ad that the shipping is by buyers choice and that you are not looking to make money off it. Most savvy buyers will know how to check the price you quote them and you can have it printed on the shipping label as a reassurance.

Ebays tough. A lot of people have had bad experiences so sometimes you have to play the soothing mother type in your ads so they know they can trust you.

#1) Reserve... I, too, will not bid if there is a high reserve. I have sold many things on Ebay, and the BEST way to sell things are to start the bidding at 1 dollars. This will get 20 people going back and forth bidding on it... This drives them to spend more because someone outbid them. They know, when they hit "place bid", they have a real chance of getting it, and not the "Reserve not met" screen". List it for a dollar, and it will go over 2 grand. Promise

2) Shipping. Just like the other guy said... people want to see how much the shipping is, so they can calculate what exactly they will spend. Always put a shipping price. Go high if you don't know. Atleast they know.

3) Timing!! Timing is EVERYTHING. ALWAYS list your item at the time and date where it ENDS on a FRIDAY OR SATURDAY NIGHT!! Preferably around 10-11PM Eastern time. There are more people on Ebay at these times because most don't have work or school the next day... and hell.. they're bored and searching Ebay.

Those are the three things I always go by when selling things on Ebay. Good luck, bud.

The only reason I wouldn't bid on it is because... 1) I don't know anything about turbos & it's still kind of new to some and scientific. 2) Budget Junkyard Turbos can be done for under a grand. and 3) Don't want to hackup my eng bay.

wazazzle. your 3 points collide, a person who doesnt know turbos would look at a junkyard turbo as last resort as it is the hardest. alot harder than buying a bolt on kit

also points 2 and 3. a junkyard kit can be done for cheap but requires lots of modification as you go along, which in turn runs into point 3, of hacking up your engine bay to make a junkyard turbo and do it yourself parts fit

this kit was made from turbo technology, a valid turbo company who made it to fit, the only things I could see that might get in the way is, moving the battery to the trunk and deleting the smog pump, those are 2 popular things that most mustang guys do anyway..
