I was at the DM car show this afternoon and they had 2 05 GTs there, a stick and a yellow auto with the black stripes on the hood. Any way the were saying that on the new models, 2005+, that if the torque varies by 4% or 6% the car wont run right. So you cant just throw bolt ons in em, you have to either but a attachment that will adjust the computer or send the chip in to be reflashed.

What is the point of Ford doing somehting like that? is it a way for them to cover their butts or something or does it have a legit function other than annoying folks who would like to mod their cars?

first I've heard of that, I've allready seen plenty of bolt ons and cat backs for the 05 the said nothing about a reflash.

The only thing I heard is theres no way yet to get a chip for the 05s

That is a bunch of crap. The dealers don't know **** about anyuthing only what they hear. NONE of these guys are car buffs, just people trying to sell something. In this case, it's FRPP items from the dealer.

sounded like bs to me too but i figured Dallas Mustang would know more about it than i did. I couldnt think of a good reason for Ford to handicap a car that way.

DM is a terrible parts supplier. Their tach adapt. is like $289. I bought one, it is crap. The only reason I got one is to make my Venom work. Still didn't work though.
