Well 390 vs 373/410 you have to customize to get in and work. Most shop don't even know how to install a simple Ford Racing gear let a lone a 390.

I'm gettin a 390 as my next gear but its going to come with the 9inch i order. My friend talked me out of gettin the 390 just because of the fact its not a easy bolt-on.

There is no more problem installing 3:90s as there is with any other gear.

Unless they've changed, they don't make a 3:90 for a 9" rear, it's a 3:89.

A ford mechanic told me they dont make 3.90's for the 8.8 rear end just for the 9 rear end. But I've seen them advertised (the 3.90's) Maybe when he said they didnt make them for the 8.8 he meant ford didnt make them

Ford does indeed not make a 3.90 gear for the 8.8 rear. There are other companies that do though like Motive gear(I think), Pro5.0, and Richmond gear.

I have to agree with the others. If you're going to bother putting gears in the rear, go with 4.10's instead. I'm running 4.30's and my car is a daily driver. I love them and have no problems with them. If it wasn't for fear of running out of gear at the track in 3rd, I'de be running 4.56's without question.
