I posted a week or two ago about it. It was very slow turning over. Well, after brain storming with my brother (his car) we remembered that when the headers got coated they coated the ground welded to 'em so we removed it. I installed a new ground and it turned over much better. So, we pulled the number one plug, turned the motor over by hand until TDC on compression stroke. Set the distributor, then I double checked the wires to make sure they were right. The thing just wouldn't fire. It sounded very promising but just wouldn't go. When I pulled the plug you could smell fuel from before so it's getting fuel and when I was adjusting the distributor when it was cranking over I accidently pulled up one of the wires and got the shock of my life, so it's got spark.
Some history: motor is fresh, new T5 to C4 swap. We had issues with the MSD distributor eating gears before so MSD rebuilt it and changed the TFI module. I don't know if a bad TFI would allow spark but just be out of time? Regardless, this weekend I plan to swap my distributor for his and then check his fuel pressure KOEO. I'm kinda stumped here though. I don't know what would keep it from starting. I just hope it's something simple and not a cam installed wrong or something like that.
