will 4.6 o2 senors work on a 89?

i have brand new front and rear 02s for my 97 but i just found out that my 89 needs a new one can i use one of the 4.6 ones on it? thanx

I don't think you can.. something with the new ones being a different design.. 4 wires instead of 2? Im not too sure on it, but i dont think they can be interchanged.

ok nevermind that i bought a new o2 senor nowp my problem is the h pipe i just paid to get put on 130 bucks! is also clogged and now im just gonna say **** it and put my offroad h on and buy a sticker for $150. my question now is will the check engine light come on when theres no cats or is that just the newer ones?

No you won't get any codes on you 89 w/o cats. That only happens on 96 and up stangs with O2 sensors after the cats.

Quick question: Do fox stangs have 4 wire 02 sensors or 2 wire?

It's been a while since I swapped mine, but I think they're 2 wire.

Fox's are 2 wire, the newer ones are 4.
