Will a KB Boost-a-Pump increase my fuel pres. on my N/A '98?

Hey guys. I know that with my '98, you cannot use a fuel pressure regulator to alter fuel pressure, as the computer will override it etc. Something that has to do with the return-style fuel system I think? (correct me if I'm wrong). BUT, can I use a Kenne Belle Boost-a-pump to increase the output of my fuel pump to increase fuel pressure? Has anyone used this technique? I'd rather do this then get a custom tune right now, as I only want to adjust my fuel pressure for now. Thanks.

to my knowledge you can use a regulator on any 98 and older model , 99 and newer returnLESS ones are the ones that need changes made to the ecm to control pressure and modify voltages to the pump for load changes .

I think that the way a KB BAP works is that it only boosts your fuel press. while under a certain level of boost. I don't know for sure how it does this, my guess is it just increases your voltage to the pump, but I don't think that your pump would last long if you constantly ran it at a level higher than designed. Maybe someone who actually has a KB could chime in on this...

Upon further review: KB says you can use it for NA, and it comes with a dial for adjustment up to 50% more fuel. But it only comes on under WOT. And it does work by increasing voltage to your pump.

Best way to do it is get a set of 97 Rails, buy a good aftermarket FPR and go to town.

You do ahve an FPR built into the 98 rails, except you are stuck with the stock FPR since it is welded onto the rails.

Why do you need to increase the pressure on an N/A engine?
