Will brakes from a 69 fit on a 66.

This guy is selling the spindles, calipers, rotors, master cylinder that he pulled off of his 69 mustang. Will this stuff fit on a 66? Are the lower ball joints the same size? Its a pretty good deal at 250 but i don't want to get it unless i know it will fit a 66 mustang. I haven't seen it, and i don't know if they are granadas or mavericks. They are single piston brakes, did 69 come with single piston caliper disc brakes as an option.

The 69 did come with disk front brakes as an option.

However, getting them on your 66 isn't going to be easy. I won't say it can't be done...becasue anything can be done.. but this isn't a simple swap by any means.

What is hard about the swap? Are the ball joint sizes different? Tie rod ends? Is it bigger or smaller, what is the difference?

That site should answer all your questions. I'm in progress of doing this on my '70, which is a little different. I needed a new master cylinder, different length brake pushrod, I'm bending new lines, and that should take care of it. I haven't completed it, so I'm still just hoping it will work.

All you need to change are the outer tie-rod ends. The ball joints are the same. Plus add a new MC. Brake lines are easy. There's alot to do the swap, but it can be done in a day, when you have all of the right parts lined up. I have brakes off a 70 Mach 1, I got at the junk yard for 100 buck!

I have 69 discs on my 65 F/B, as USMC 1966 said, just change the outer tie rod end. It is no big deal, but if you have power steering you need a special tie rod end on one side, (or a spacer) I think Mustang Steve makes this part.

You have to change the spindles as well the outer tie rods, and you will need an adaptor for the brake lines to fit to the 66 hard line. The master will bolt right up but you will need to re-route the lines for the dual master. I ran this set-up for several years and it's a pretty straight forward swap. Worked great...

they'll fit i used 73 brakes on my 67... just use the spindles and out and new tie rod ends. np new M/C and lines.. simple. oh and 14" wheels "may" not work. they would in my 73 case but i know with some granada swaps they wont...
