Will it hurt the car to use 10w30 oil?

Actually, you'll be just fine. I think it is fine on the engine, especially as it ages. I've been told that it is recommended over 5w30 on our high mileage motors.

I use 10w30 synthetic also. You should be good man. I've used thicker oils on engines with extremely high miles and oil leaks. Thicker oils kind of slows down the leaks.

10w30 is what i use every time i change my oil. as was said above, if you are experiencing any blowby or leaking though, you may want to go with a thicker oil though to slow down the oil consumption/leaking.

10w30 is going to flow just like 5w30 unless its really cold outside, and i belive thats only on cold startups anyways, so really ur using the same oil pretty much

That's what I was thinking when I read the questions.

I use the Synthetic blends in 10w30 right now.

how has that worked for you?
An oil with a higher flashpoint is what resist oil from burning, which is one reason amsoil is suppose to be so good. If this graph is true then u can see a little bit of difference

Personally ive used amsoil, and i dunno think its worth any extra money even if it is better oil, i still burned a quart in 3,000 miles, but i think it was a little bit slower process, i also dont like how if u need to get some its not conviently availble since its special ordered from the people who deal it

i use mobil 1 10/30 synthetic.i thought my car was burning a quart every 3000 also but i figured out that it was actually getting sucked up through the pcv into the intake.and also leaking around the pcv.figured that out when i pulled the upper off to get ready to change the intake and the inside was all black,so were the tips on all the injectors.

I use 10w30 in everything. My dad has always told me its the best to use never gave me a problem so that what i'll stick with. I've used stuff like Slick 50 and Lucas Oil treatment. I didn't really like slick 50 it was real gummie. Lucas Is great their fuel system cleaner is the greatest have ran it in all my stuff and they run so much better afterwards

Lucas stuff rules!!! I use Mobil 1 10W30 every 2000-2500 miles and a K&N oil filter.
