Just wondering if this is possible or if there is not enough room. I don't want to put the cobra emblem in the grill. Any suggestions? thanks

What part? If you mean the black part that lays down against the GT bumper, then no - the Cobra bumper has this built in. If your talking about the black piece that surrounds the horse, then yes.

It's a different part # actually. Not sure how the GT radiator cover thingie (if that is what you are talking about, since the 01 Cobra has a built in delete) will fit(if it does at all), but I bought both - one for my 02 GT, and one for my wife's 01 GT (with the Cobra bumper)...and they ARE different. PM me if you need Ford part #s...I keep all the receipts!

I beleive the '01 Cobra and the Mach 1 use the same inner grill trim and pony setup. The only thing different is you can't use the lower black trim peice on the Cobra bumper.

I don't really understand the question. The '01 Cobra basically already has the delete....at least 2 of the 3 peices.

EDIT: I assumed he had an '01 Cobra. If you are putting an '01 Cobra bumper on a GT then just go to Ford and order the "Mach 1 inner grill trim" and then hop on ebay and buy the running pony emblem out of any 94-98 Mustang and you are good to go.

Nope, not true my friend...there are two different part numbers for that inner piece - one for the Cobra and one for the Mach 1 delete kit - and they are different (shaped). Let me go grab my receipt.

OK, here's the poop -
For the Mach 1 grill delete, the "Radiator Cover" is XR3Z-8C299-AAA. For the Cobra, it's 2R3Z-8C299-AAA. Thankfully, people like Randy Stinchcomb keep me in the know...I bought this stuff (and more) from him, via ModularDepot, Liberty Ford.

Maybe their shaped slightly different, but it doesn't matter either way. I had the complete Mach 1 grill delete, and then changed to the Cobra bumper. I left the radiator piece on. Obviously it fits.

The front does not look right without a snake or a horse IMHO...

Well that's weird, but that's FORD. I searched all over the place last night for the pics I took when these parts arrived on my doorstep, but I couldn't find em. I recall the difference was more than slight though, we even were able to see how one was definately for the Cobra nose and the one was Mach1, though I can't recall exactly what the difference was...but if you got it to fit, that all that matters and it's good to know...cause I love the Cobra bumper look.

Thank you for your replies guys. Sorry if I was not specific enought with the part that I need. I was refering to the peice that would fit where the running horse and honeycomb were when my GT bumper was on. I noticed after doing the swap that the stock horse and honeycomb did not fit anymore. I did not want to put the snake in the grill because my hypocricy goes only so far. The Mach1 grill delete seemed like a good idea, but the Mach1 bumper cover looks just like a GTs bumper cover so I was not sure it would fit. I'm going to check out those ford part numbers from twogts4us and hopefully find what I'm looking for. Thanks again.
