it will hold up to normal driving but would probably break if you were to powershift it. torque is what actually breaks the tranny. not to mention the gear ratio's in a 2.3 T5 are sooo much higher than in a 5.0 T5... your 5.0 in first gear will probably be VERY useless... either spinning the tires or having to shift in like 2 seconds... if you dont already have the motor, most places will give you a deal if you buy the motor and tranny together... and it'll prolly end up costing you an extra $100 for the tranny. You can then sell your 2.3 tranny to someone here to makeup for the cost. I believe I paid $400 for my 2.3 T5 and swap parts. Ebay would make you even more money. All of which would help fund getting some longtubes on that 5.0 before you drop it in. =)
