Will a 1991, 1992 or 1993 instrument cluster (gauge unit) fit into a 1989 5.0 hatchback or are they different???

Physically I believe they will fit, but I think the wiring harness changed after 89

87-89 will interchange. However, if you want a 140MPH speedo, you'll need a late '89

The speedos from a 90-93 can be retrofitted...with a little modification

So if i find a 140 mph speedo from an 87 and 88 it wont work?!! I could only use a cluster from an 89 mustang?

You won't find a 140 speedo in an 87 or 88, only a late 89, like he said.

87-88 GT's had the 140 cluster,the 140 cluster was first put in lx's in 1989

Nope...only late '89 for all 5.0 cars
