My friend has an 02 Maxima, he had a cold air but then he had to take it out because it didn't have a sensor. Will I have a problem with emissions if I buy this?

IM not sure about Virginia emisssions but californias are probably stiffer. Is that a looks like a MAC Cold air. If it is then it should come with a C.A.R.B. EO# which would make it legal in all 50 states. I think BBK and densecharger are also legal with CARB EO numbers. Maybe someone from VA can come in and let us know how strict they are.

even if its not... wont take but a few minutes to change out for the stock one before you go and get your car tested.

You are worried about your car not passing emissions with a CAI? I have H/C/I and have to go through MA emissions which are very strict. Not for another 1.5 years though :-D

Which sensor are you talking about? I'm pretty sure if a car is missing a sensor it isn't going to run right...

The sensor comes with most intakes.

Are you talking about the Mass Air sensor?

I believe he's refering to his air intake temp sensor...you use the stock one with that cold air intake. It has a hole threaded for the stock unit.

That intake rocks, mine was $40 on Ebay.

It will not effect emissions.
