My Entry

Here's my submission for the contest. I'm active duty Coast Guard, and if anyone on the boards knows the story of Douglas Munro at the Battle of Guadalcanal, they'll know why I'd like to dedicate this picture to all of the past, present, and future U.S. Marines we might have subscribing to this thread.

i took a few quick ones yesterday but the dull overcast sky kinda killed it. i had planned to go out today to get some great ones, but my car got keyed and the tires slashed last night

Today I decided to drive a couple of hours up to Washington D.C. to get some pictures of my stang in the nation's capital. My brother drove the car, and I jumped out and snapped pictures. We got to see D.C. in the mustang and enjoy the sites. We got beeped at more times than I have in my entire life, but we had a great time. Here are the two pictures we got of the capitol building and Washington monument.

Well after thinking about the contest for so long this is the best place i could find to trully show patriotism.

George Washington Crossing Historic National Park

Total Distance 110Miles to and from.

Here is the car at the entrance of the Park with the American flag. Vehicles where only allowed to go so far and i didn't wanna get in trouble and accused of god forbid terrorism by driving my car to trespass on historically protected ground.

Even thought the mustang is not in some of the following pictures im posting to show i really drove there.
Here is a plaque of an explanation of the Parks Historic Significance.

and of course the famous George Washington Crossing painting fabricated in Bronze at the park.

Passing over the George Washington Crossing bridge. that bridge was insanely tight. ohhhh man i though i was gonna clip mirrors with everyone on the other side of the road.

i edited the brightness and contrast in the pic, but the color is all real. just the sunset through a thick layer of clouds at my beach.. you should have seen the moon when you could see it; it was a bright neon orange!

Like you said, not exactly "patriotic", but that's a great picture.

I took these two pics using a cannon from the 19th century as a backdrop which I think compliments the P51 'Mustang' license plate. Adding to the Americana, notice the burnt rubber from peelouts/donuts on the pavement below. The location is Sloat Monument parking lot at the Defense Language Institute at Presidio of Monterey, CA.

I'm mostly a T-Shirt junky but $1000 in parts or the other prizes sound nice.
Heres My daily driver at the local Ford Lot with one of the largest American Flags in the back ground.

As far a getting a shirt for participating do you need our address or is that discussed at a later time. Thanks & I had fun trying to figure out some place to photograph my car.
