Hi I have a 95 mustang v6 and im doing a 5.0 swap, I have all the GT stuff and I was wondering if you had to take out the whole wire harness and put it in the v6 or can you just disconnect it on the passenge side and pull it through the fire wall? Any thing would be helpfull thanks.

Heh, I just went through this not long ago, I'm converting a 94 V6 to a Cobra. The wiring harness that leads to the computer is different, it leads all over the passenger side of the engine compartment. The wiring harness that crosses the radiator and leads to the fuse box is the same for V6/GT/Cobra. The only difference in the wiring is if you have ABS; the non-ABS harness is short a couple of wires.

I recommend pushing the harness for the computer through the firewall behind the fender, rather than running all the wiring from inside the car through the hold in the firewall.

I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about the swap, just IM me or post it here.

Well, you need the 5.0 computer too, and of course the engine wiring harness. There's a module on the coolant reservoir bracket that you need to swap. Andf you need to install the TFI module. If you have the 5.0 fuse box I would verify all the fuses and relays are in the V6's fuse box.

The TFI module is on the passenger side of the engine compartment, near the shock tower. It has an aluminum heat sink on it. Here's a photo (with the engine out, of course):

Yeah, that's exactly why. The TFI handles the spark for the computer; without that, you won't get any spark. Swap the harnesses and you'll get spark.
