Does anyone know where the power supply to the clutch safety switch comes from? (2001 Mustang)

My car had a repair wire run from the starter solenoid all the way to the ignition switch for some reason and I would like to repair it properly. If I take power from the PK/WH wire from the ignition switch and jump it out to the clutch safety switch it starts fine but I would like to fix it properly. Is there a common problem or switch that goes bad that I should know about. Thanks for any help...
