Indeed. How did they claim visibility problems? Was the reflective coating inside the housing bad? Running LED bulbs? Tinted lenses? Or a cop smoking crack?

I hope you filed a complaint agains the officer. Was the officer there? I hope he looked or will look like a complete jackass. They should make the officer pay you for his mistake.

the black center piece and all the stri[ing the oofficer siad was illegal, and said that there was an electrical problem with the car, he was able to tell that by looking at them. i was going to originally pay for the ticket just to get rid of the hassle, but online it said i had to go to court for it, i figured since i have to go down there i might as well fight it. i would of been angry if i lost got there at 845 i didnt get out till 1230. he though i won the prosecuter tried to get me to pay a court fee but i got out of that too.

So what did you do? Bring the book and a picture of your taillights down with you??

Are your taillights dim?? I know that overtime the reflectors inside wear away and the bulbs just aren't as bright. When i did my cobra taillights, i sprayed the inside chrome and it made the lights much brighter. I even made a thread about it somewhere. Before that, they were in fact pretty dim.

EDIT: found the thread

The OEM SAE taillights have a diamond cut reflector pattern that is designed to be seen at night with the reflected light from other cars. Smoke lens may not have this reflector pattern. If they are simply snap on covers for the existing lights, they may make the reflector so dim that it cannot be easily seen. I would hate to have my car run into because I parked on a street with no lights and the tail tights didn't have a good reflector.
