Worst run at the track

After I put the AOD back in after rebuilding it, my old GT vert went 17 something on my first run. That was because I literally got the thing back together the day before and wanted to take it easy on the first run, shifting at about 3,500. I guess the drive up and that 17 seconds was my break in time for the new setup.

Ok I have been racing for 3 years and have my worsts for different reasons...

Worst due to Traction:
16.219 @ 92.54 (best with this combo was a 14.18)

Worst Due to Missed gear:
19.385 @ 48.30 (best with this combo was a 13.89)

Worst Due to possible breakage (bad Noises out back):
22.245 @ 53.73 (best with this combo was a 12.63)

18.1 @ 89 mph.....:nonono: My clutch kicked the bucket on me. It was also my first ever pass in this car by the way, and it was stock except for 3.27 gears  I lauched at like 2000-2400 rpm not noing what the hell I was doing, and I lost traction and the rpms shot right up, I shifted to 2nd and the rpms shot up again  so I shifted to 3rd.....same thing, thats when I finally realized what the hell was going on. I let off the gas for a second then the clutch finally grabbed and I finished the race in 3rd.....It was truely pathetic.....good mph though considering, lol!

I've made a 20 second pass. I've only taken my car down the track a handful of times, this was the third. I completely obliterated the rear tires at the line and was in second gear before I moved ten feet. Second gear started to get pretty loose, so I let out and took a "sunday drive" down the track. It was twenty-something at about 50 mph. Impressive, huh?

And missing third, done that too. I lined up against a new Z06 and just smoked him off the line. R/T was like .153 to .930. I guess I got a little excited that I was going to trounce this vette and missed 3rd by a mile, then took two more tries to get it in. Ran a 15.2 at 89 mph and lost to the vette by a ton. Oh well, there's always next time.

Wow, I don't feel so bad anymore. My worst was my second run I have ever done, I ran a 16.2 at 88 or something. The very next run I got a 15.4 at 94 with a 2.33 60'. I know if I hadn't tried to hold 3rd gear for the last few seconds I would have done a LOT better! LOL, oh well, I'm going back out next Friday, and I should have some BEST times to post. :)

My worst run was a 13.54 @ 80mph...in the 1/8. It was kind of embarrassing too. Getting pumped, ready to let her fly, then stalled it on the line. It was pretty funny though. I rolled out of the stage beams about 2-lengths, started it back up again, took off and still beat the mid-80's Z28 I was racing in the next lane to the finish line.

Best run was the same day….8.95 @ 84.6mph with a 2.05 60ft. on plain old Dunlop SP street tires.

Worst ever was 17 something, missed second and third gear, before I had my shifter.

Most emabrrising time was, not looking at the light, because I was checking out the 04 GT next to me. I looked back and the light was green and the other car was gone. Ended up stalling my car. Cranked it back up and gave it my best shot. Heres how that slip reads...

ME----------------04 GT
r/t .855-----------.337
60' 2.919----------2.432
330 6.920---------6.782
1/8 10.080--------10.238
mph 77.59---------72.08
1000 12.798-------13.159
1/4 15.078--------15.625
mph 99.08---------91.07

I did win, it was my friend in the 04 and it was here very first time to the track, much less racing. That was before my heads were put on BTW.
