Would a Bad Distrbutor limit your RPM's

I only go to 4500-5000 RPM's

thats about it for the stock igniton system if you want more revs get a better igniton msd 6al and a chip to get rid of any possible rev limiter but that on a 5.0 is where all the power is around 5k on the other hand if you had a bad dis you would know trust me you wouldnt even make it to 5grand. GOOD LUCK

Not discounting what you're saying, but my car used to rev past 5000, now it's not. I've heard others say it should rev past 5000 also.

Anyone else?

the car should rev right to the limiter at 6250....if its stopping before that then somethings wrong

if u have a stock coil id change that..its pretty cheao and even iif it isnt the coil its still good that it was changed.

Any idea what may cause that? Could it be the distributor?

you getting enough fuel?
change filter lately?
check injectors lately?
seafoam it lately?

I changed the distributor and coil, and it's back to normal.
