Would a King Cobra clutch be good enough for my car?

Spec Stage II: Good price, now so well known, but will definitely hold my power and may possibly break my tranny?

Breaking the Tranny depends on your power output and how hard you are on the car. If you have 400 + HP and are droping the clutch at 5,000 RPM's at the track then yeah you can expect to break something. All depends on the situation, no clutch will guarantee to not bust your tranny, especially the T-5

my next clutch is going to be mcleud or whatever if i get the chance to choose, i currently have the king cobra now, and i want somthing that can take a bit more heat, hehe. my car is basically stock and i think it is a well suited clutch but if i was boosted id look towards somthing a lil better

also depends on how sticky your tires are as far as tranny breakage.

If you put anything in there that grabs harder than a SPEC Stage 2, you will bust your trans up. Mark my words...

Spec stage II is no more likely to break the transmission than a centerforce dual friction. It is tht stage 4 and 5 that are really hard on transmissions because they don't have a sprung hub.

Like the others are saying, sticky tires and driving style have a lot to do with how long a T-5 will live.

Steeda90Gt - The clutch I have is a Centerforce Stage II clutch...not a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch. There is a difference and the Stage II (after being in a very similar scenario to yours) is the choice I went after, after some research. It provides a happy medium between nice streetablity and ease on the tranny and a softer pedal. I have drag radials as well...

Look at the earlier post...

I got mine from summit racing...free shipping

Here is the part numbers you will need...

Pressure plate # is CF360057
Clutch disc # is CF381021

You can use any throwout bearing...

The pressure plate was $200 and the clutch disc was $80 I think...you will want a TOB as well...another $20 bucks or so.

You could also look at getting an Anderson Ford Mortorsport "Super" King Cobra Clutch, which holds 30% more horsepower. Just a thought, I think there price is around $250, good product too.

Yeah but there seems to be a different one for the 94/95 cars. I thought all clutches were the same for all yrs 5.0s?
