Sorry to plague everyone with a common question, however I rarely make threads nor ask stupid questions.

My cars going in for a makeover, and I cant decide between a 1.5" or 2.5" cowl, it will be a Cervinis.

Also, anyone ever used the 50resto brand Cobra insert? Good quality/fitment?
http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/iwwida.pvx?;item?item_no=LRS-8200F 1&comp=LRS

I'm going for the sleek and sexy look, it will be repainted same color with a shaved antenna, trunk emblems and upgraded to 17" pony r's.

Give me your thoughts, Merry Christmas, all.

What will you have for a wing & ground effects? IMO, that makes all the difference on how large to go.

I vote 1.5" regardless of wind or gfx. It just seems to always look cleaner.

I'd leave the hood alone personally; both those notches are sweet the way they are. But if you are definitely buying a hood, go 1.5".

Another vote for the 1.5" I think "subtle" is the name of the game with what you're doing. The Pony Rs and a small cowl give it a stock look to the undiscerning eye. This is EXACTLY what i'd like to do to my car when I get into it. Good luck with the work.

If you do do a hood, go with the 1.5" I have a cobra grille insert...not from 5.0 Resto, it's from Cal-Mustang and it was only $50! http://www.calmuscleparts.com/store/1987-1993-COBRA-GRILLE-INSERT-CORRAL-HORSE-C2492.aspx It's probably the same...but good quality none the less.

Stock hood fa sho. But, if you must adorn your Mustang with a Chevrolet hood, the 1.5" would be nice and subtle.

I dont mind spending the cash on cervinis, its going to be done professionally through and through, however I wanted to get everything from 50resto to save on shipping, and I couldnt find the grill in their catalogue.

I dont mind the stock hood, but I wanted something a bit more. No other hoods will be considered other than a small cowl. I dont think any other hood looks good on a notch other than the heat extractor and thats not the look I'm going for.

Anyone got a couple convincing pics of a 1.5" cowl? I bought a new computer and all my images are on the old one. (yes, I realise theres a thread of nicest foxes, but I dont feel like searching through all of it. If you have em and dont mind posting them up, it would be appreciated.)

1.5 hood is a waste in my eyes. Go 2.5 or leave it stock.

The 1.5 is so sublte its not worth doing. Why spend 500 for a hood that is damn near stock. I like the stock hood and if my Victor intake clears it im keeping it, but if it doesnt I will be getting the Cervinis 2.5 cowl. Also the Cervinis hoods arent much lighter than the stock one either. H.O.Fibertrends has good light hoods.

i would spend it on real parts instead of another 1.5" or 2.5" hood height unless your motor hits the hood and you cant put it back on to drive it

Yeah 1.5 is about an inch over stock...they don't look bad but i would get a 2.5 before i'd get a 1.5. Then again i'd probably get the heat extractor before i'd get a cowl too.
