Would you buy used gears and differential?

Im going to be getting new gears soon and while everything is taken out I figured I would upgrade my rear end to 31 spline. Ive looked on ebay and I can get a used OEM ford diff for fairly cheap, but that worries me that I dont know the mileage or how it was treated. And there are a few ones with 373s (which I want) already installed with the diff for cheap. It looks like the diff have teeth on it though, and all the new ones for sale dont have them. Is that gonna be a problem?

Heres a few ones im looking at.

I would NOT by used gears. Personally I would just spend the few extra bucks and buy it new. Just as you said, you don't know the miles or how it was treated. They could have abused the rear end like crazy. Also I have heard it is heard to remesh used gear because they already have a pattern

back in high school my dad bought a set of 410''s from a guy for $60.. the guy before him bought them for 60 from the guy before him... my dad sold them for 60 when he got tired of 410's... they were in 4 cars and had no problems..

personally i would go with new ones tho.. piece of mind
