Is it just the body work, or does it have all the bells and whistles of a Saleen?
Also, how much cash with the trade-in do you have to add?

get the saleen...i wish i had got a used Saleen insted of a new GT and trying to make it a saleen...i found a real 05 Saleen, black like my car, and if i add just the cost of parts i've spent on getting the Saleen kit and rims to the cost of my 06 GT I could have got the real saleen...and i didnt even factor in labor on installing the saleen stuff. Also the real saleen will hold its value better then my Faleen...go for it.

I concur, if you can afford it, get it those are the sweetest looking stangs out there. Pictures dont do them any justice, up close and in person those cars rock!

Is it a superchrged one?

the only thing i dislike about the saleen is the rear. i dont like the cover over the taillamps. if you can swing the payments, make the switch!

I agree, love the rear end of them personally, like a vette wearing a blue oval

I guess I'll be the dissenting opinion on this one: I say keep the GT you have. I prefer the styling of the GT over the Saleen, and the price of the Saleen just seems too steep: according to the Saleen site, the 3V has an MSRP of 42K, and the supercharged versions start at over 50K.

interesting prices on saleens posted here. the NON charged saleens are more than double what I paid for my GT. The supercharged ones are right near $58k around here.

I usually frequent the Classic forums, so I'll be glad to take an unpopular stance. I have loved the looks of Saleen's in the past when the factory, IMHO, cranked out unimaginative, generic looking cars. Saleen really found some character in those cars, and for that, I give Saleen all the props he deserves on those cars. However, IMO, the 2005+ cars look so sweet from the factory that I would only do subtle mods. Again, its just my opinion, which you asked for, but I think the new Saleen Mustang = rice. I would much rather subtlely mod a GT, especially when you consider the cost factor and having something even more unique than a Saleen if you are deliberate and thoughtful about your mods.

One other point to add here.....

when you go and make mods to a low number production car like the Saleen you're destroying the car's future collectibility.

On the other hand, making mods to a GT is almost expected!

Speaking from personal experience, get the Saleen. You will not be disappointed. It feels like a completely different car than the GT. I also own a 2006 C6 Corvette, which is awesome, but even it does not compare to the Saleen in my opinion.

If it makes fiscal sense go for the saleen, it's a unique car for sure.

I love the Saleens, personally not a fan of the black, but maybe it looks better in person. You have a nice Mustang, make sure you get a good deal out of it if you go for it.
