i posted about this before but now, i kind of have a different problem. i really want to try to keep this short so here it goes..

i had a bad cat so i decided to swap out my whole bassani x pipe. i did that, but i couldnt get one of the o2 sensors out so i replaced it. i also had issues with the gaskets etc and i had a rattle. after about 8 miles of driving my service engine light came on. this sunday, i used a special gasket maker and that solved that problem, i am pretty sure i dont have any leaks now and my exhaust sounds like it did before. after 8 miles or so of driving the car, the service engine soon like came on again. i have no idea what this could be. yesterday however, when i was going home from work when i started my car the light didnt go on. i drove probably about 15 miles or so, and it came on again. this is really starting to scare me and i am not sure what to do. i believe i have mils because with my old x pipe i had no light.... i am wondering if me swapping out the o2 sensor could do this or what could be the deal. my car otherwise seems to run fine but i really really want to get this taken care off. thanks a bunch for anyones input and help; i appreciate very much...

Did you reinstall the mils on the rear o2 sensors? Did you buy OEM Ford o2 sensors, the others are crap.

Buy an OEM Ford gasket, and no problem with a leak.

Get the code read and go from there. That's the only way to be sure of your problem.

The code reader at Autozone will give you an idea on where the problem is. If you have a catless pipe now you are getting the reading from the rear sensors detectiong no cats. The MIL or O2 simulators would be connected inbetween the sensor harness and the harness from the car.

Did you try erasing the code to see if it comes back?

If i was you, I would go and get a custom tune. If you want they will either put the new tunes on a chip or a programmer that matches their equipment. I just had mine done this week and what a difference. It is like night and day.

It is also a necessity if you add bolt ons that effect air intake.

do u know how much power u gained? what did u dyno at before and after? what kinda stuff do u have done to ur car?
the reason i am holding off on tune, is that i am saving for a blower so i dont wanna spend money on tune, gears etc when i am going to have to get a new tune etc later on...(hopefully in 3 months or so..)

All I have on my car is a K&N Filtercharger. It is a 2002 GT Vert w/automatic trans. It was running like crap. I had it tuned and now it is great. No more hessitation. I gained 20-30 horse across the board. My air/fuel ratio was all off, probably from the K&N being added from the previous owner without getting it tuned. Anytime you add any mod that effects air or fuel you have to have a tune.
