Wow. Got to hand it to the guys at Brenspeed.com and SCT. I recently purchased an SCT Xcalibrator 2 from Brenspeed. Ran the car yesterday at our 1st test and tune of the year, cranked out a 14.44@95.74. Previous best run was 14.9@93.5. So thinking it was just a good day, i checked the local barometer and the corrected D/A, we were running at 1800 FT, decent air for Kansas. So I ran a few more times, 14.5, 14.55, 14.49. Wow, tuner must have helped. So, to check this, i re-flashed back to stock and ran, 14.97@93.29, ran again, 14.91@93.49. Awesome, flashed back to my SCT tune, cranked out another 14.5.

.5/sec from a tune?? didn't expect that. Also had a buddy that had purchased his at the same time, he has an '97 GT stock cept for X-pipe and flows. Previous best run of 15.5@88. he ran a best of 15.0@90.5. another .5/sec gain.

So the Xcal 2 was really worth it after all, the only reason i really bought it was because i was going to need it when i get my cams in the next month. Would hope to see low 14's, but now it's possible for mybe 13's. Anyhow, i've attached my slips for your analysis. The tuner really improved my 60'. Anyone else had this kind of gain from these??

That's great. I also have a X-Cal 2 and I also like it. What part of Kansas do you live in. Pearl02.

Yeah, the SCT was my favorite "bolt on" mod.

Brenspeed is the best. Thats where I take my car to get tuned at. They really come along way in less than 2 years.

For $350 I think the handheld tuners are probably the best HP/TQ gainers for the money, once you get about 4 performance mods for the tuner to work with. It's the best HP/TQ gainer mod I've done.

Its cos you have an auto. Chips can do wonders for the shifting just by increasing pressure and moving the shift points to keep you in the power. Makes so much difference.

I'll agree with that. It helped the auto hardcore. The shifting is sooo much better now. and with the J-MOD i already had in place, it shifts unbelieveably firm.

Crazy horse. Is your Mach a 5 spd. or auto? And what mods do you have to the motor & rear end? And how did the tune help? Sorry for so many ???s, but i was looking into a tuner & gears soon. 4.10's sound good but I eventually want to get a blower, but in reality I dont know how soon I can afford 1.

I've got a 5 speed. Not much for performance mods. Just Magnapack catback, Bassani catted X, C@L Tru-Flo Intake, and a custom tune with the Predator via dynotune. Still have stock 3.55's. The tune just ties your performance mods together via spark advance and A/F adjustment. With the air mods you will run either lean or rich. Mine actually was running more rich than lean. A very nice RWHP and TQ gain. 13RWHP and 12RWTQ just from the dynotune for me.
