I keep runing into posts on this and other boards where people have ordered their 06. Some of these posts claim to have a dora number for their 06. I placed an order with a dealer about 3 weeks ago but they have told me today that no dealer can place orders yet for an 06. Who here has an actual dora for an 06?

from bradbarnett user:
'06 Tungsten GT Premium Vert
IUP, ICAP, AAT, 18" 64E (maybe 64W) wheels, Shaker 1000
Manual 5-speed, Side air bags, wheel locks, X-Plan
The Waiting Begins....Got my DORA!!!

from bradbarnett user:
dont be too sure that the 64E are fanblades, this has not yet been confirmed...according to my DORA on my 06 order, it says

Bright Machined Painted Aluminum 18" wheels

Could be Bullitts??

Another post:
w00t! got my DORA
fianlly got here this afternoon on my fax. Everything is correct on the order. The wait for my 06 is gunna be the hardest part
--------------------
ordered 5/20/05 - 2006 GT premium Black, bullitts, spoiler delete, ICAP
DORA - 5/24/05
On this board:
My '06 DORA GT Prem. Man. anti theft, Int upgrade, w/ 18's ($735) on APLAN = $26.6k D=$26.7k X=$27.6k

Are these posts BS or are people really getting a dora for an 06?

Does anybody know for sure? I'm guessing the people who say they have a dora are either confussed, mislead by their dealers or fibbing a little bit. Any actual facts by someone would be nice.

Can somebody who knows exactly how this all works explain the whole order process? By reading these forums, I'm conflustered as ever. Does anybody know exactly how this works? What is a Dora and what does getting one mean exactly? What is a Voc and what does getting one mean exactly? Which of these tells you your car order is in line to be assigned a build date? I've read a few conflicting posts so an expert on this would be great. Please that is.

Straight from Ford's "Ford Speak Acronyms Database = Definition: Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement.

I have a DORA, build # and Priority #. My dealer is a long time friend and would not jerk me around.

This may sound stupid, but is that a Receipt Acknowledgement from the dealer to the customer or from the factory to the Dealer? Is the Dora what puts you in line for a build date? Last week the dealer said they had received 06 allocations but could not place orders yet but that I was first in line at the dealer for an order to be placed. Also said this week they could not yet place an order. When I asked if any dealer could, they said no, that no dealer could order an 06 yet. So this is where I started to get confussed with what was being said online and my understanding of what I was reading here and what the dealer was saying. Personally I don't care if my wait is longer because it gives me a little more time to get a few bills out of the way before taking on a new payment. I'm just trying to understand the process of this order. Kind of like a new baby being on the way if you know what I mean and I guess that makes the dealer kinda like the doctor who's delivering my baby! So i'd like to understand this whole process

Is that for an 05 or an 06? Im assuming 06 but dont know for sure.

My dealer said the factory wil not be taking any orders from dealers till early aug. I have my recipt from the dealer but no dora yet. Not a huge deal for ma as waiting a bnit longer will allow me to get a larger down together but I would like to know for sure cause I dont want to wait forever and just be waiting not knowing anything. Is there someone on here that actually works for a dealer that can tell us what is going on for sure? We need to know.

Not a single person has been able to post a pic of a 2006 Mustang GT DORA.

I do in fact have a 2006 Mustang GT VOC, with the price level 615, and I can enter my order number to the Ford line and get a "clean and unscheduled" response back.

Is there any special treatment behind your getting this or are you just a normal joe like the rest of us? Would you say then that the statement of no dealer being able to order an 06 is not correct? Do some dealers have priority over other dealers? I'm not sure why i'm asking for more details. It's overall pretty silent on the subject which i'm guessing means nobody knows jack for sure. I've researched several boards and found a fair bit of conflicting info which of course is why I thought I would start a thread seeking to get the facts but nada jack on that plan. I guess I just wait it out like everyone else

Nobody special here. I read about people putting in orders those first couple days of June, so I went to the dealer on June 6 and said that I heard the order banks were open. The salesman had the same thing I had printed out:

http://www.angelfire.com/ultra2/polkthug/2006MY_Mustang_Order_Guide.pdf

Picked out my options, then he entered it into the computer, and printed out a VOC for me.

Ok, I just learned a VOC is just the order confirm between you and the dealer, "You get a VOC First, then after the dealership puts in your order to ford and Ford accepts it you then get a DORA." Unless somebody knows different. YOU'RE NOT SPECIAL AHHAHA... Just kidding

Funny thing is, which adds more confusion is that I can call FORD's robot lady and get a status on my order. Weird huh? So Ford knows about my order, but they haven't REALLY accepted it.

And what about the people that claim to have DORA's, are they all telling lies?

maybe "clean and unscheduled" is the base response. Maybe with the input of the voc, ford is just aware of your order at the dealer. I don't know that people are telling lies. That's why I started the thread. Because of the large amount of conflicting data. That's all I know for sure, people's stories are conflicting and some of this stuff on other boards is coming from people who work at dealers. It's on all the boards. Both "No you/they can't" and "yes you can/I got"

Changed 4th to 5th

I have a DORA for my 2006 mustang gt (just got it today). On the top it says "2006 Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement-FD" I got my VOC the day after i ordered the car. My priority is 19, but the guy who places the orders says that he starts his orders at 15, so i'm 5th in line. He seems like an honest guy, so i'm guessing that he leaves the 10-14 for emergencies. I know that they aren't placing deal orders in front of the people waiting becuase they never have any on the lot.

The Quest for the Holy.... DORA???

I'm just sick to my stomach with this whole mess.

My 4 week experience trying to receive a Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement Warning, this thread is ugly. Everything from me making the stupid mistake of placing a non-refundable deposit to a, ah, very not so honest dealer.
