331 SBF with Procharger (F1R????)

Rick, Just kind of wondering why you went with a 25.5. Does your track require it or do you just like the added security? Or do you plan on ripping into the 7's? Also how much weight did your 12 pt add?

Went SFI 25.5 since I was going NMRA Drag Radial racing and would have been knocking at that door...8.0's was the goal :D I honestly don't know what the cage actually weighs, the Pro-stock style backhalf I did is not required by the spec but after talking with some other chassis builders I felt it was needed to help make the car hook on the radial.

25.5 Full Bodied Car Stock or Modified/OEM Floorpan and Firewall with OEM Frame or Uni-Body Construction – 7.50 to 8.49 Seconds; 3,600 lbs. Maximum

Ive also looked at updating to The new SFI Spec 25.3 for Full Bodied Cars, 6.50 to 7.49 Seconds ET, 3,600 Lbs

Really at around a 3400lb race weight I just wanted to feel safe...

what kind of times are you running?

It's fast sitting on jack stands collecting dust....:(

With the power it makes it should go low 8's, trying to put more into the shop (moved to a new building) and having a baby put my own racing on hold, although I'm really missing it and eager to get it together. I almost threw together a stock stlye motor with my F1R to drive it...my alum rod monster really wouldn't be streetable.

Right now I live threw my customers builds, just finished a 1000HP plus turbo street car :D Looks like a stock 93 Cobra from the outside

It drives better then any stock Mustang I've been in, definitly nailed the cam perfect. You can putt through town in 4th gear at 1500rpms and it won't buck. It's funny when a lil import comes up and I just hit the gas enough to spool the turbo...it's an awesome sleeper. Just about ready to go back to dyno for complete tune....

DART Based Big Bore 347, AFR225 (worked), Canfield Spyder (Large Port), RNH Solid Roller cam, 76mm Ball Bearing, Full accesories including A/C, MMR TKO900 trans, fully built rear, RNH fuel system, etc. It is for a NFL Player :)

thats badass, have a pic of the motor?

Drug Dealer :nono: LOL, They dont have the time to do what we do they are 2 buys watching their back.

Guys thanks for all the Info, Dont think ill be doing the 25.5 Cert maybe just more points (12 /14 etc).

Well as for the Motor im now leaning to the 427 with a F1R Cog, Now with a 3Speed Transmission with Trans break and air shifter set up. The Rear End im going to change to a 9" with say maybe 4:10 and 40 Spline race axles. Will do the cage upgrade and Some supporting Suspension work. I know that my Budget just went up more but I think this set up should keep me happy untill i want to grow wings.

Anyone here ever heard of a Guy name Paul Meister at Torq? Do anyone think hes the guy for the job?

Matt

If think the cheapest route, if you gonna build a really fast car, is to buy a full chassis car, I actually sold a full chassis 65 mustang coupe to a guy in the bahamas (pretty sure it was bahamas) had it for sale on craigslist, dude calls said hes from BFE, I thought it was a scammer, but showed up a week later with $$$$

Thanks Guys, But PA is a bit far for me. Not just geting the car there but the constant travell back and forth, to follow up on progress of the car build. After all i am looking for the entire build to be done under one roof, Suspension, Engine Build, Tune, Drive line etc.

Anyone in that field feel free to introduce yourself as its all still up in the air with a certain builder im looking at in FL. He may be the way for me to go as the fact that hes in FL helps and most of what ive heard has been realy good things about his work and he has a suspension guy working with him as well.

Hes recomending a 427 SBF with the F1R Blower to get the RWHP goal. I think this is the way to go and just ditch the 302 SBF set up.

a 331/347 with a F series blower will make 800-900hp easy, you add that same f series blower to a sbf 427 (preferebly aftermarket block) and you're lookin at 1400-1800hp no problem

Guys Thanks for all the advice, well after allot of research, im looking Now at doing a N/A motor to put me into the 5.50's with all the suspension, fuel, transmission, lighten up the car, Stand alone system, pretty much building the car around 1400 HP ($30,000 Budget) so later on I will just go with a Blow through Carb with maybe F2 and alchol to avoid intercooler.

These guys at Mustang Specialties are realy nice to work with and they make alot of good sugestions. See instead of pumping so much cash into the engine with Blower, im going to build the car around 1400HP and then a N/A Motor that can do 5.5 all day then later when i get more cash and want to go faster i will be in a position to just upgrade engine and add Blower.

Does this make more sense than chasing the realy SBF and Blower set Up?

Thanks Matt

you wont touch 5.50s on $30k...and id like to know this 1400hp n/a setup?

the outlaw 10.5 guys (running 6.5-7 sec 1/4s) have upwards of $200k in their cars, ive seen those cars sold online for $150k

http://world-challenge.racingjunk.c...0_5/post/1761560/2002-Camaro-Outlaw-10.5.html

heres a good deal on an outlaw camaro for $100k

and those arent full bodied "lightened up" cars...
