Going rate here . That's what my buddy who did my car usually gets to do a car like ours

Sent from my iPhone using my fingers while my auto correct makes me seem illiterate
Nah, I believe that. I was just being a smartass about going to paint his car for 5k. Assuming he does everything Mike did on the monster.

Sorry I wasn't in my sandbox last night gentlemen. I was up at 3AM that morning looking at airfares for the instance that I may have had to go to Omaha for a family emergency. Fortunately, I did not have to, but unfortunately for those of you trying to egg me into wearing a grocery bag on my head while interacting w/ Dave....I was too tired to play.

But now I'm awake.

Today's my day off.

I just got paid........(To talk w/ people while sitting in their cars that they just bought, or in tomorrows' case, drive a car for 8 hours.)

Daves airfare is booked. (And yes,... Dave if you have to have green M&M's, then so be it. Any other stipulations?)

My brand new car comes in on Monday. (More about this after Monday.* Hint* It's a BMW, and at the same time, it's not)

It looks like it's gonna rain today. I gotta make enough room in front of the Monster so that I can push him all the way forward and make room to work the hood inside. But I gotta find a shrinking dolly or hammer.

Or I gotta find a new Monster hood.
I was just pretending to be Eddie Van Halen for a moment there Mike. Don't need the m&m's.

BTW, a Mini Cooper?

Can anybody else see deleted posts, or am I still slightly empowered?

Dave, if green M&M's are the only thing you ask for besides the necessary items to allow you to function properly, then there'll be bowls of that stuff everywhere. Since I know that you were kidding, I'll hold off on buying any, but just so you know.

Whatever Dave want's,......

Why Mike! I'm sure the pleasure of your company will be enough for me......and beer.

I'm just gonna go on record here.....

I'm a music guy. I'm one of those guys that can usually name the band, or the song within a second of hearing the first few notes.
That goes to say, that most of the time I'm working, I got music playing.

But I'm here to tell you along the same vein that I dislike certain car word usages (dizzy, tranny, pumpkin) There are certain bands I absolutley will not allow to play if I have the power to affect that.

Van Halen is one of them.

(That, and a whole list of other crap that came straight outta the 80's)

But,......If that is something YOU want to hear Dave,.......then I guess,............ I'll reach down between my legs,.......and ease the seat back.

Come on Mike! Van Halen started in the seventies! Their first two albums were out before 1980.

Whatever music playing is fine, no rap, I don't consider that music. Maybe Steven Tyler's in walk this way would be ok.

I know Dave,......if I went on record as stating that I could "name that tune" in the first few seconds, I also have an idea of when that band first started making them. Even though there were a late 70's band, (as far as their popularity is concerned) the early-mid 80's is where they took off.
In reality, I'm an equal opportunity hater. I almost uniformly dislike something from every band. Some less, some way more than others. Alot of it isn't so much the band, as how much of that band I had to listen to in it's heyday. I was in the Audio-Video business for the last 36 years, so I pay more attention to it than most.
VH isnt so bad in the grand scheme of things when compared to the likes of Cinderella, or Motley Crue, or Poison, or Ratt, or any band with the word "white" in their name.:puke:

Oooo! Oooo! Billy Joel!! I want to stab myself in the eye with a screwdriver any time I hear him! I'll take 100 hair band songs for no Billy Joel. Some coworkers and I actually talked about petitioning the local classic rock station to stop playing playing him, but then I changed locations and we don't have a shop radio now, so no problem.

See there you go, automatically summing up milk toast because I don't like hair bands

What if I told you that Disturbed is in my music collection?

It's not the band most of the time, it's how overplayed they were.

( well, excepting the hair bands,... If there never was a Poison, the world wouldn't have missed them)

No, you missed it. I didn't assume that. I was wondering if you liked BJ. (I like VH)

But i liked the Poison joke.

Regardless of the band, this is how I judge them ( and typically that criteria justifies whether or not I have it in my music collection)

If the old singer or band is still making new music and can fill a major venue when performing live

( think Bruce Springsteen here, the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac)

Then I own it.

If that singer or band has to play to a smaller venue, ( like a casino) or has to gang up with other has been bands to fill a medium sized venue ( like the Journey/Doobie brothers concert that just happened) then that says they lived their lives and people ( myself included) are done with them.
MOF, I would go as far to say that Journey probably needed The DB more than the DB needed them)

The 80's..... The birthplace of music that Lived and died with the CD.
