I just started a 68 GT Fastback project and have been thinking about what to do with badging. The standard 68 block GT badge is fine but I am instead thinking of using the 66 (shield) version on the front fenders.

Has anyone ever seen someone do this, and if so, how did it look?

I personally like the shield GT emblem better.
-If you are going for a 100% correct restoration then you should go with the correct year emblem. But if you are making it your own car put whichever one you like the best.
-It also depends on what you are going to do with the car. If you are fixing the car to sell or flip them maybe you should put the correct year one. I build my cars to drive and enjoy. I know I've heard it form some people for painting my Mustang a 2013 Hyundai titanium metallic grey because it isn't a Ford color.
