i am collecting all of my bits to do this contour fan install and i have the fan, picked out and ordered the flexalite controller 33054 and is a vsc unit. the one thing i am getting tripped up on is the dual speed on the fans. since i am getting a vsc do I even need to use the built in resistor thing on the shroud? or should i just hook up the the two wires coming out of each fan to my vsc and make them run on high, but they will be throttled down by the vsc anyways.
I do have the original ford wiring harness and all the plugs so i could use the built in two speed function if that does make sense i just can't see why it would. Having two things in place to do the same job doesn't really make sense.
fyi anybody who has a taurus or other fans they are different in the way the two speed setup works. other two speed fans have three wires coming out of the motor- ground, high speed, low speed. the contour fan only has two wires coming out of each fan but they also get wired through a little resistor thing that somehow magical makes it two speed.
thanks,
adam
