So we went to the dyno today and I pulled 186.7 hp and 249.8 tq on the first run. We decided to take out the air silencer and see what happens. Took the silencer off, and pulled 171.1 hp and 229 tq. Just to see if we got a bad dyno run we tried again. Same results, still way down on hp. We decided to put the air silencer back in and see if the loss of power was due to the car heating up. Put the silencer back in and it ent back up to 186 hp and 250 tq. So any of you 4.6 guys might want to test this both ways.

I have heard of this problem. I know taking it off kills off torque on the bottom. I have seen a bunch of dynos proving this. But at top end the hp is slighty better. Your dyno shows the same..a few more hp at top end w/o the silencer. Is it worth it? I don't know. I put a cold air on mine so I don't have this debate anymore!
