I was searching through some old photos, and found pics of a 69 coupe I drive briefly before parting it out, and, um, finishing it off... It was a 6 cyl coupe, Auto, I think P/S. This was back around 1980 or so.

But look at the color........

Either an axe. hatchet, or golf clubs.

I used to buy cars for $50, drive them until they were totally beat, then strip them & have my friends over for a "killing party". I have some crazy stories from them, including a 1970 Olds Cutlass that survived 20 minutes with no oil, and a brick on the gas pedal....

Ah, those older, crazy days.......

The color is very distinctive!

If I had kept Chepie, I would have re-painted Indian Fire, but done the hood in grey like the Mach 1. I think that would be a very striking & unique combo. Go for it!

Is that indian fire or rust colored primer?

Poor thing looks sadder than old Sadie (who, incidently, has been donating a few parts to new Sadie's engine so she will live on to some extent in new Sadie).

Actually, it's my idea. My late father special ordered the car back in 1998. It's a plain appearing Escort ZX-2 coupe, but he ordered the Zeta motor (Hi-Perf), 5-speed, and better suspension, but just boring ol' grey outside, and standard interior. He liked sports cars, having owned a few MG's, Morris Minors, and a 1964.5 Mustang, as well as his favorite, an early Rabit GTI he adored. Rode hard as bricks, but what a blast to drive. :nice:

As soon as the weather breaks, The car is at my Mom's, and we will borrow it at first to get Deanna comfortable with the clutch. If she likes the car, we'll strike a deal with my Mom. I would very much like to take Deanna to a racing school, and get her high-speed and car control instruction from a Pro. Her Honda would blow up on the first high-speed session! :p

So, maybe soon she'll piloting a blue-oval.
