Hey everyone,

An all around new (Mustang) Owner. One owner 2015 Mustang GT. Bought it with 16,000 Miles.

I've noticed (only) on cold starts, until it warms up, that the RPM gauge will stick at 2k or 3k, etc, basically whenever I let off the gas. It will then eventually normal out after roughly two seconds.

Is this just a 2015 Mustang GT issue? Or a (normal) thing? I used to be a turbo owner, and this used to happen with boost misfiring. Obviously not the same.

Any answers would be appreciated. Still a (noob)

Well, cold starts are higher in the rpm range. After the car warms up for a while, it drops. 3k sounds a little high.

I might've explained this wrong. The car is idling fine when cold. It's when I'm driving and let off the gas the RPM gauge will stick at whatever RPM I'm at and take 2-3 seconds to drop back down. Is this normal when motor is cold for these cars?

Buy it from dealer or PP? I have experimented with different performance tunes. One I had in it caused it to "hang" just as you described. Got rid of that one quickly.
