Good Or BAD..Honest Opin

My rear end sits 1/2" to the passenger side but the bushings are fine. :D

Chris, how did you notice? Was there a relative change or do you have the rear-end located laterally and it went askew? Just curious.

With the power you're putting through both stangs (esp the SN), I'm not surprised.

Same here. Passenger side.

However, every so often I feel a very slight jerk in the rear of the car when taking off .... especially after turning. It kind of twitches to one side, then back. You think mine are bad?

Is some guy you don't like sitting in the back seat? :rlaugh:

It could be Justin. Did you have this before you put the big meats on the back? Any chance it's Trac Lok related (you have friction modifier or a synthetic with FM already in the fluid?). The FM lowers the coefficient of friction - no modifier bites nice and hard but can chatter in turns.

I'd take a look around at the bushings (I seem to have a little better luck seeing the bushings than Chris does - I was just lookin at them briefly a few days ago). Give some yanks on each wheel (with the rear of the car real safely in the air) to see if you can get some deflection (I'm getting some groans out of my pass. rear when I back up or turn and hit a little bump). I haven't located the issue yet. I do have a little more movement with respect to the longitudinal plane than I'd like.

Oh, I misspoke earlier. Both the fox and SN have the driver side sitting closer to the fender. It's another car where it's reversed (I can't keep the crap straight in my head).

Good luck with it!

Actually I think the bushings are the ONLY thing keeping the axle housing from moving side to side. This is why people install a panhard bar to keep lateral motion from occurring.

I would replace ALL of your bushings if I were you. Especially with a turbo car. Poly and spherical bushings are nice.

You are right, the arms can change it also though.

Those were the only stock bushings still alive in my rear suspension, although the ones in my LCAs look like crap also
