Fox Body Pedals in a 66? Will it fit?

Hi, Im currently in the process of rebuild a 66 mustang. I have put a 5.0 HO motor in it with a t5 trans. The car was automatic so i need a pedal assembly to operate a cable clutch setup. I was wondering if anyone has put in a pedal assembly from a fox body or know if one could work. I think it would work out a little better considering there is already a quadrant on the pedals, any help would be appreciated.

Typically, no one uses the Fox pedals/pedal hanger when doing this swap in an early body.

I'm pretty certain the Fox pedal hanger would not be a direct bolt-in. With enough imagination/fabrication skills though, I suppose most anything can be sorted out.

It won't work (unless you feel like hacking up your car). Saw it installed in a 66 vert and the firewall was hacked big time. OTOH, it fits fine in a 69 which has a differently curved firewall.

I'm in the process of swapping from auto to T5 in my 70.

The transmission I bought came with a fox pedal assembly, so I looked into using it. It's not a bolt on by any means. There really isn't enough room for it. You'd still have to dent or clearance the bottom of the cowl by a couple of inches to fit the clutch quadrent. You'd also have to drill all new holes in the firewall and make up some sort of bracet to bolt the assembly to the dash and steering colum.

It was much easier to just buy a 69/70 clutch pedal and use my existing assembly.

If you're carful to make your measurements right, you could graft the backhalf of the early Mustang's pedal support to the forward half of the Fox's pedal support.

Innteresting! Maybe there's a reason that they guy I met who put it in his Mach wasnt giving out details

I wouldnt mind doing some cutting, drilling or welding if needed, I just don't want to make a major project over something that shouldn't be, but if I can save some money and buy a fox pedal assembly and play with it a little it would be worth it. anyone have measurements to compare the two assemblies?

I would get a MustangSteve pedal setup over a fox setup. Its a bit more expensive but he makes a great setup. I got the bearing setup with quadrent welded... its great
