what can I get by parting out?

Ok i've found a pritty bad spot of rust in the passenger side strut tower area that I don't have the time/money to fix so I think the best thing to do is cuz my losses and part it out, I'M NOT TRING TO SELL ANYTHING YET, SO DON'T CLOSE THIS DOWN AND DON'T MAKE OFFERS OUTSIDE OF PM'S, i'm just tring to figure out what to expect to get


it's a 85 5.0 auto,
edelbrock intake and carb
procomp hei dizzy
pony rims,
black interior in pritty good shape,
full power
all glass is good
convertable top in good shape

befor i got it , it was converted to 93 body style so it has

93 gt ground effects
good fenders
ram air hood
clean trunk with NO rust
sln wing
lx tail lights


doors are remans so they have no rust at all and are power

all body panels in good shape

dual exhaust with flows.....uhhhh some other stuff, I'll try to sell it as a whole and then part just don't know what to ask or expext, thanks....

I made $2,100 bucks off an 86 Mustang GT aod that was t-boned (bent so bad it wouldnt drive but in circles).

I paid $200 bucks for it.

I sold NO body panels off of it.


You would be amazed at what certain items are worth.

Like these I sold on ebay.

- Factory Premium Sound Casset player went for $172
- Marchell fog light - $75 bucks
- Marchell fog light covers - $70 bucks
- Fog light harness - $25 bucks

I can go on.. but the litte things a person would normally throw away can be worth serious money.

thing like those door panels and dash are worth some cash....shame it was converted, as the other stuff is worth a little more, but the bumpers and stuff should fetch some money too

I'm thinking about tring to fix it enuff to sell, I hate the idea of another mustang being junked....I'm gonna give it a little bit befor i put up the for sale add, I started talking to the wife about it tonight, cuz if i sell it i'll be looking for a new one, probly a classic...so that's where my money will be going, thought she should know

yeah when I got it I did'nt care for foureyes at all so I just started finsihing what he had started, but after awhile I really started to hate what it was and kept getting thoughts like,man a four eye with ponys would rock, so as someone who has delt with it, I am soooooo vary against the swap.....

If I go with a fox agian I'll be looking for a t-tops car.....I'll let this one go for 2000 to someone on stanget...it has ponys and i have a complete efi setup that will go with it....I'm keeping my tri-bars though, gotta have something to keep the garage

Sometimes parting you can get a lot more than if you sell it as a whole car. The only thing is that your going to have to be patient, espeicailly if you want a decent return.

Or, find a 4-popper or something and use the chassis and swap all the good stuff over.

I might try to fix it, I got the fenders Pulled and the back side is not so bad, I'll have to pull the struts and all the brakeing stuff....i dunno though....some guy sent me a email saying he'll give me a iroc for it....I've never even thought about going to the dark side...

My 83 had pretty good rust on it. I parted it out for over 4500 bucks. And only 1000 of that was for the body with a built 8.8, full drag suspension, and a complete NOS Cheater kit with dedicated fuel system (1 gallon nitrous enrichment fuel cell under hood) and a full autometer dash. I did have some higher dollar parts though, like almost new AFR 165s, and a Tremec 3550. That doesn't include anything in the motor, either... as it was blown to kingdom come.
