Got my 3.73 put in today!!!

I got my gears installed to day at the local ford delar for 200.00 buck's its all sounds good does any one know where to get the 3.73 gear that goes in the trany? so its will tell the right speed:flag or is it computer tuned its a 2002 Mustang GT

You can buy a speed calibrator for pretty cheap. You don't really need a tuner if all you are doing is the gears.

$200 for the install from the dealer is laughable. I had four quotes from the dealers around me and the lowest was $600 for the labor. You got a very good deal.

but where would i buy one, would summitracing have it the speedgear. The guy at the dealer was cool he gave me a military discount because i am in the Army

+1 for computer recalibration required, can not recalibrate a 2002 GT with a speedo gear.

Oh there a lot better than the stock 3.27s i am going to the track to see how they do

does any one live near the Fort Knox area that has a tuner i could use to set the gear speed

They can't correct your speedometer with their tuner unless they divorce their car from it and restore their stock tune to their vehicle. You can only use a tuner on one vehicle at a time.

the tuner has to be setup specifically for your vehicle. You'll have to go get a speedcal.

I have not had a Speedcal work yet. I had to keep sending them back to Dallas Mustang. First it was fixed, then I got a new one, and then I got another new one. They told me they had a bad batch of Speedcals. I didn't like that box stuffed under the shift boot either. I bought a tuner instead. Go with a handheld tuner. It is worth it, and is a smarter investment for the future.
