anything i can do to stop valve tick

yes the stocks are roller, ford rollers will be fine very dependable just hit your local dealer ship or if you want to save a couple of bucks order from summit, crane, comp, lunati, and several others sell them many to choose from.you dont list any mods so I will assume thats your problem, high lift cams tend to make a little noise and to get rid of that I suggest a pushrod lenght checker and shims

You can just pull the lifters out of their bores by hand once you remove the lifter guide retainer and the guides themselves. Very easy to do. The hardest part of the whole job is cleaning off gasket mating surfaces and putting everything back together really. Just make sure you label EVERYTHING as far as electrical connections, vaccum lines etc. It will save you some time and headache in the long run.
A manual will help out too when it comes to torque specs and stuff if you don't already have one.

Good Luck!

are you sure it's not a small exhaust leak....some small leaks will sometimes happen with temp changes.....if it's real cold here my truck manifold leaks worse than when it is warmer....but when it real warm out it leaks worse than when is a little warm....if that makes any sense lol

i'd check exhaust leaks at the head like roland said. i have had some leaks sound an awful lot like lifters.

get a rubber tube and hold it to your ear and move the other end around the tell us where the noise is the loudest.
