My name is Kevin and I bought a WV Blue GT Convertible (Prem)/Parchment, automatic last month. Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm putting 17x9 GT500 replicas with 255/50 rubber as a slight mod. I didn't care for the stock 235 bicycle tires. Otherwise, I'll be keeping it stock mostly. I'd like to learn more about the car on this forum. Cheers

Welcome! Your first mod is always the most precious....I remember when...heh.

Enjoy your Stang, and thanks for supporting Ford! These new Stangs are sexy and it's easy to see why so many have jumped on. Either again or for the first time.

Yeah really!!!!! After my CAI upgrade, SCT Tuner(93 octane tune) and 4.10 install, my car is a BLAST to drive. So much so I haven't even unlocked my Jetta diesel which gets over twice the fuel economy of the GT in over 2 months!!!!!

Thanks for your encouragement.....

The car is really a sweet ride. It wasn't really a planned purchase. I already had an 01 Cobra but rented an 07 V6 to get it out of my system. Well I got addicted instead. The S197 is much better, especially with the all new chassis. I wound up trading in the Cobra for the bluecar. Acquaintences thought I was a dumbell for trading the Cobra but I have no regrets. Just an excuse, but bad back and knees dont mix with stiff clutch, my mild lowering springs, SF hills, and potholes.

I've also bookmarked the talk section so I don't mistakenly go to the Tech Section.

-Talk to you again and thanks! :D

Welcome to Stangnet Kevin, I noticed it didn't take very long for the mod bug to bite lol. but then again it usually doesn't take very long before it spreads like wildfire so just letting you know in advance, be prepared to part with your hard earned money as the rest of us who've been bitten by the mod bug as well...:SNSign:

Stan, its a bit embarrassing.....

but I took quite a hit because I sold it back to the the dealer from whom I bought. Their logic (understandable) is that they have to prep the car, advertise, find the buyer, get the money and do all the paperwork. That would have been a lot of fix, mix, and timing for me. They had interested parties afterall. I didn't. Anyway, the Cobra sold in 2 days with 3 buyers vying for it. It had only 24000 miles on it and I never redlined it. Included were Y2K Chrome Cobra Rims, Ford Racing Lowering Kit, Flowmasters, California car and I waxed it (even the rims) twice a year. Seats had no bolster tears or scuffs. Cosmetic geegaws too. Also had the original window stickers, sales brochures and the lot. It was laser red with parchment interior.

Bad back and knees made it difficult to use that stiff clutch to do a smooth start from uphill. Also, even though it was a mild lowering by all standards, I found it bone jarring and felt like my teeth were falling out every time I hit a pothole. Also, the tranny started feeling notchier than usual and some of the switches were getting erratic. Plus the extended warranty was almost up.

I looked for my 07 on line and my dealer had the color combinations and trim level that I wanted. I listed the Cobra for 19000 on Craigslist for about a week, didn't get any bites and I didn't want the bluecar to get away from me. Expect to get a 2001 Cobra one for around that much but basically bone stock. Check out CL, SF Bay Area and you'll see some nice specimens. Thanks for your question and feedback. I know this is a long winded post.

In response to your question, I'll tell you how much I got if you PM me. But please don't us the emoticon thats doing the bwahahahah with fists hitting floor.
