So i got a 30gb iPod..

I know...i was thinking that too when i was going to buy a new 30 but getting one for $200 was a decent deal and when you factor in the leather case i got, i pretty much got it for half the price of the 80 so i'm ok with that.

Is there some kind of limit to how much iTunes will transfer at a time? I've only got just under 6gb in iTunes so far and it only transferred half that and then just quit transferring.
I hear you man. Don't get me wrong, I'm still enjoying the hell out of this thing. :nice: I never noticed a transfer limit but I don't think I've tried to transfer more than a few gigs at a time.

No limit, but i only usually add a few songs here or there. I usually just rip a CD and transfer those over.

I don't keep the MP3's on my PC however. I only have a 100gig Laptop. I don't keep my ipod synched. I just transfer music and then delete the files off my hard drive.

When i want to listen to music on my computer, i plug the ipod in. Gotta charge it anyway right?

The only issue I have ever had is that my main system will hang on bootup if the ipod is plugged in at boot. I think it trys to activate like a fixed disk. I dunno. Its annoying though cause I forget why everytime untill I noticed my ipod sitting on the desk next to it.

Where did you get it. Apple Stores tend to have pretty good customer services. They should be able to test it for you, so you can tell if its a lemon or your system.

Well to bring this back up to date, i just got a brand new iPod from Apple in the mail this morning. It's syncing all my Mp3s (or about 1/5 of them) right now so we'll see how it does. If this F'er doesn't work flawlessly it's going on eBay, i should get close to store price since it's brand new.

Well....so far it's copied over the initial 793 songs i had tried to sync to the original iPod with no problem and it's playing without locking up....so far so good. Maybe it was a fluke but it's not very promising after reading so many bad reviews. It must be a case of the name selling the product and not how well they perform. I love the user interface they use and how the menus work though.

Yeah if this turd gives me ANY problems i'll be heading to the local Apple store and demanding a refund or they can give me a LIFETIME warranty on it since it's probably going to be replaced on a monthly basis.

The tech i talked to told me that 99% of the problems come from iTunes on Windows computers.

Well, i will say Apple's customer service is top notch from what i've had. This dude sat on the phone for a solid 2 hours with me trying every trick in the book to help me out. I called them on the 7th and got my replacement today, the 12th, and that's counting a weekend in the middle and DHL doesn't run on Sundays. That's pretty fast.

If yours is acting funny give them a call....it's worth the hastle just to get a replacement...i mean you paid for it so why not?

There is an iPod store in the mall. I will just take it there. I bought it new and paid full price for it. She doesn't even want to use it, because it freezes so much

Let me guess, Kenwood Mall? That's probably where i'll take this one if it screws up again. I called them originally and they referred me to their tech line and that's how it all got settled. Every time i'm in Kenwood that store is PACKED so i wonder if it's popularity or if everyone in there is pissed and getting replacements? :rlaugh:

Oh, I forgot you lived in Cincy. Yes, you just saved me a trip. :D

Yeah, small world huh? LOL. How'd i save you a trip? Heading to the wrong mall? :rlaugh:

They need one in Tricounty mall too. I live right by Eastgate Mall so both malls are a bit of a drive for me, but i really don't care for Kenwood because there aren't any shops in there that interest me...it's a girly mall..lol

I live 1/2 a mile from Kenwood. AND you are right. It is a crappy mall.

I'm actuaklly surprised i haven't had any probs. There are 4 Ipods in my family and when i aksed, nobody said that theirs had locked up at all.

I've had my 80g for 3 months now. Not a single hiccup

You would think that with the popularity and sheer dominance that the iPod has over the Mp3 market that Apple would seriously look into the situation...i hope that's the case and things are getting taken care of. I really like my iPod (i named it $hit Pod...lol) so i really don't wanna have to go with another brand. This is the smallest Mp3 player for the capacity out there.
