MP3 players, what are you using?

I had a iPod Nano for a while and hated it, it was always freezing up or just wigging out. Since then I have gone with the MS Zune love it and very easy to use. The downside to it is it's size, it's a little impractical for my needs. I tried the Samsung MP3 player put took it back since the buttons were on the side of the player and I kept hitting buttons changing songs and other crap. So what are you using and how do you like the music program?

I have a Philips 6gig. I have had it going on 2yrs and use it almost every day. The batt. life is GREAT, at first it would last 13hrs non-stop...even after 2yrs it still lasts 8hrs or so on a single charge. It is about the size of a ipod mini but about twice as thick. It also has a disk that instals a toolbox on your computer that searches for program updates or if for some odd reason it would crash it can re-install the system. As far as locking up...it has a forced shut down that re-boots the thing, I have only used it a few times since I got it. You can choose the specific model as a drive or as a file. Songs just sync. from windows media player.

It is Windows based and also can hold pics, has a built in mic. and FM radio. My buttons on the side (the main window return button thing, and now the volume is getting alittle touchy) are getting tired...but like I said I have used it almost every day for going on 2yrs now.

My model was replaced with a 8gig for the same price the last time I looked. The front face is a touch pad that is backlit with blue light when you touch it. The screen is about the size of the ipod mini so its small. They did offer a larger 30gig (again 2yrs ago when I got mine, so a larger model may be out) that was like the 30 and 60gig video ipods as well.

I was looking at maybe replacing mine as really 2yrs...is a long time IMHO for a thing like this. I found a Zen that was a 6 or 8 gig that was small and cheap...I was going to get a Zen when I got my Philips but liked how it looked and its setup over the Zen.

I got the wife a San Disk Sansa for Xmas and its nice too, I may get one of these for myself as a replacement as there are a good bit of acc. for them. A big plus is the expandable slot on the side for added memory on a mini SD card. Our cell phones (samsung sync) also take this same card so we could use it with our phones too.

***just checked philips website, it looks like the whole line has been re-done as I cannot find my model***

i have the 1GB version and its TINY! about the same size as those new ipod shuffles (little square ones)

no issues with mine at all, great sound quality, no programs needed to transfer songs over to it. shows up as a flash drive and you just copy over the songs u want on there
I've been eye balling the Creative Labs stuff and it looks like a close copy of a MS product. I like the one you linked it looks like it fits what I am looking for.

I needed something to use at work while on the conveyor system or driving the Dozers, but it had to put up with alot of abuse and dust. Mainly coal dust.

I tried 2 Ipods and they both lasted me 2 months. I sold them after they got warranty replaced and got a MS ZUNE. The size is kind of a bummer, but this thing has been through hell and it still works perfectly. I watch movies and listen to unlimited music plus the ability to listen to FM Radio is awesome. I almost think that it was a waste to buy the Extended service plan for it. I had to use the plan to replace 2 Ipods, so I figured it would be wise for the zune also....LOL

I recommend the Zune to anyone. It's the easiest one to use, and the most reliable.:nice:

I have a 60gig:D video ipod and so far it has held up. I mean its been dropped from :D 4.5 ft onto tile due to a retarded manager  , the battery last about 20 hours. The only thing I don't like is itunes, it take like 15 minutes for it to reconize my ipod.

30GB iPod Video here too...

itunes sucks, but I went ipod over Createive Labs or Zune so that I could control with my car stereos and hide the ipod...

Actually both me and my wife have one and use them in the cars... So far so good and mine has seen the heat/cool cycles of a year in new england (it lives in my car), it has been rained on too (Vert)... no problems yet...

I've got the 60GB iPod video and bought a nice case to keep rain/dirt off of it. Working nicely so far. Wife has a new Nano and the 1st gen shuffle - both really nice. She takes the nano to the gym every day so it seems to be holding up well.

I think the case you put them in makes all the difference in how they hold up.
