Strange Air Leak

At first I thought it was my exhaust, but I'm having my doubts. I went out this morning with the goal of re-tightening down my header bolts because I assumed after sitting all winter and then getting the car back out they just started coming out. Well, the bolts are as tight as can be and the leak sounds like it's coming from the back of the engine. I just had my car at the exhaust shop to put new tips on and bolt everything back up, and I'm sure the leak isn't coming from the header/mid-pipe flange.

When I did my TKO I eliminated the SMOG equipment and had bought thermactor plugs but I couldn't get them in, so I just hacked off part of the thermactor tube, turned it around, and called it a day.

In all honesty that's where the noise sounds like it is coming from, is that possible? Can the heads make an exhaust like leak sound out of those little air holes?

Thanks for the input guys.

See if the noise is from the pcv valve area :D

Hah. I didn't get close enough to tell where exactly it was coming from, I planned on just dealing with it tonight after work (now) but I'm so freaking tired of working on the car lately I just want to hit it with my fist to make it work right... kinda like The Fonz :D

We'll see what I come up with.

did you put any type of sealant on them. also to seal myne i just used sparkplugs worked great. And i ran mine for a week with the holes open just place your hand back there if it feels like your tapping something with your finger theres a leak.

Not quite like a Kazoo, no :)

I havn't put my hands back there yet to check it out, I've been so tired that I can't bring myself to get it done, but I have to because the 3.73s are going in on Wednesday so I want things to be done.

It really sounds like an exhaust leak, but I'm pretty sure it isn't.

I'll probably get to it late tonight or early tomorrow, and I'll let you guys know what I find out.
