What are you looking at for a replacement? I was just wondering if the clutch chattering had anything to do with possible misalignment of the bellhousing in relation to the crank center line.
Love your saying 'tits up'. Very funny.

the chatter has pretty much gone away....its the paper thin engagment zone that bugs me...it did get better with the Firewall adjuster and quadrant however.

under normal driving expecially city driving it blows...when it's cold the clutch is great but once it gets up to temp it sucks...if that makes sense.

Under WOT the clutch is good to go....

Just ordered my TKO 600! Oh yeah I'm on vacation! Yeee Haaaa!

I'm just curious why you didn't go w/ the 500. I went w/ the 600 for the taller 1st and OD gears because of the 4.10's. I hated shifting out of 1st at 20mph and I hated cruising on long I95 drives under 80.

Also, I really like my McLeod clutch. It slips when I want it to on the street, but grabs good when fully engaged.

The 3+ and 26 spline are holding up good so far. I have only put about 100 miles on it though, still haven't been able to go WOT. The chatter isn't all that bad. It's there, but not as bad as most. It will go away as soon as the high spots wear down. I am happy with it so far. The lighter pedal effort is worth the money alone!

I'm already over the torque rating for the 500. Yeah having a low 1st gear sucks, I have the same problem with the T5. 1st gear is relatively useless in the T5.
Both trans could be tailored to different gear spec by different companies. Pro motion being the big one I can think of. Plus they (ProM) can build them even stronger.
