tail lights help asap

drivin along and my left turn signal starts flashing very rapidly...so anyones particular senario is a bulbs out.....well i checked and none of the bulbs are out...and they turn on when the lights are turn on with the headlights but its when i put on a turn signal or hazards that it doesnt work.....im dead sure lost....help

Please describe the problem you are having more clearly.

Rapid flashing means a bulb is out either on the front or rear turn signal on one side or the other.

If you only checked the rear turn signal bulbs go check the fronts.

Well, there are two filaments in the bulb. One does the parking lamps and the other filament does the brake/turn signals.

You have the parking light working, but not the brake/turn.

Only two bulbs in each taillight do the brake/turn (3 if you modify the taillight like some have).

It's possible one blew out a while back, and now the other one blew leaving you no brake/turn and now you are getting the fast blink. Check the bulb. Swap it with the inner segment since ford uses all of the same bulbs for the 3 sections but only lights up the outer two for the brake/turn.

the bulbs have 2 filaments. the filament for the flasher is gone. just turn you hazards on and walk around the car to see what bulb is gone.

the 2 filaments are fine on all six bulbs in the back and the fronts are brand new.....you can see which bulb is out when your put the hazards on....but both filaments are good on it

If all the bulbs are good and the filiments are fine, could it possibly be the control unit under the dash? Or the flasher fuse/solenoid in the interior fuse block?

Just listing some other possibilities

first of all its a 2000 vert gt......when i turn my headlights on the one filament comes on on everything....so far so good.....now when i turn the hazards on the middle driver side bulb on the taillights doesnt blink but all the others are fine....and if i turn the headlights off the middle one doesnt do anything.... just the 2 outside ones on the passenger and the outside one of the driver....and all the filaments are good.....and im lost

Could be the flasher...

Turn the right turn signal on, verify the front and rear lights are flashing.

Turn the left turn signal on, verify the front and rear lights are flashing.

Do not assume anything, visually inspect now.

just from that description, it's either a loose wire in the socket, or a broken filiment. Keep in mind that you may not be able to see that break.

try swaping a bulb that you know works with the one that is not working properly. That will let youknow for sure if it's the bulb or the socket.

and can i fix the socket or do i have to replace the harness?

More than likely, it's just the bulb that needs replacing. If you have basic wiring skills, you can fix a socket, if not you can get a new socket and splice it onto your existing harness. But I'm gonna stick with a bad bulb.

Have you actually inspected the bulbs/sockets??? Could be just a loose connection due to bumps or could be a burned socket

turn your blinker to the side that isnt working, take the harness loose from that bulb and check for voltage

Have you checked your blinker fluid? It could be low? Are you running full synthetic?
